Concept : THE ORION EXPRESS
Because Every Journey Begins With a Spark.
The Orion Express – a name that embodies our objective of bringing our guests for a journey through time and space. Putting into consideration that NTUMS has evolved through the years as an organization that reaches beyond the shores of Singapore, with annual trips to overseas communities and with members from all walks of life, we have chosen stars as the central theme for the dinner. From the sun, to the North Star and to the Orion’s Belt, humans have through the ages, found inspiration and guidance in the presence of stars. We are dependent on it for time and for direction. The Orion’s Belt, in particular, guides a Muslim towards the direction of his or her prayers. Furthermore, stars have often been a source of awe and fascination, inspiring artists such as Van Gogh. While we hope to bring our guests through a nostalgic journey, we also wish to inspire them towards future aspirations, challenging them to look beyond their comfortable boundaries and reach for the furthest pearls of the sky.
